On the heels of the July 4th, 2007 celebrations, our enthusiastic citizens gathered in Atlanta, Georgia to discuss the draft bye-laws for the proposed formation of a not-for-profit organization. The meeting approved the charter that established The Gambia Sukuta Association of the United States (GAMSUK- USA).
Six months later, GAMSUK-USA was beset with persistent difficulties in organization and outreach in the different states and regions. It was therefore disbanded. It was not until 2016 that our citizens galvanized once again through virtual engagements. They adopted a new Constitution on September 20th, 2016 establishing the North America Sukuta Association, dba NASUA as a public charitable organization.
